AMERICANS LOVE FIREWORKS... SAFE FIREWORKS
Phantom Fireworks Lights the way for National Fireworks Safety Month
June 1, 2004 (Youngstown, OH.) -Phantom Fireworks continues its yearlong commitment to fireworks safety with a safety first message during National Fireworks Safety Month - June 1st to July 4th.
Each year, millions of American families celebrate their independence with backyard barbecues, family get togethers, and what has increasingly become an American tradition - lighting and watching of Fireworks. To insure a safe and enjoyable 4th of July season, Phantom Fireworks wants to remind everyone about fireworks safety and bring attention to the pre-cautionary measures people should take when they are using or watching fireworks. "Safety is Phantom's number one priority," says Bruce Zoldan, President of Phantom Fireworks. "We take great strides to inform our customers about injury prevention and fireworks safety."
The largest retailer of consumer fireworks in the U.S., Phantom has always been an advocate of fireworks safety and safety promotion. In addition to its support of the National Council on Fireworks Safety, the American Pyrotechnics Association, and the American Fireworks Standards Laboratory, Phantom Fireworks provides each customer with a safety flyer and devotes an entire section of its Web site (fireworks.com) to fireworks safety.
Phantom's retail division of consumer fireworks consists of 40 showrooms across 12 states, with over 1,200 temporary locations in 17 states. Each Phantom product is tested to ensure it meets or exceeds the manufacturing and performance specifications set by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Phantom also has one of the strictest in-house testing programs in the industry.
It's this type of effort that has positioned Phantom as a leader in the industry when it comes to fireworks safety and has helped make consumer fireworks safer today than they have ever been before. "Fireworks usage has increased dramatically over the years," says Zoldan, "but fireworks related injuries have fallen by almost 68% since 1994…people are definitely feeling better about buying legal fireworks."
